It’s called a spiny-backed orbweaver. I’ve never seen anything like it! It stayed near my front door for several days until it rained hard two or three days in a row, then it disappeared.

I asked it to stay and eat all the mosquitoes, but I guess it got a better offer elsewhere. I’ll miss my unusual spider friend. Hopefully it will come back someday!
